DIGITAL PROOFING AND PRINTING
Advances in technology mean that we can now produce high quality packaging print digitally.
WHAT EXACTLY IS DIGITAL PRINTING?
A digital printer uses electronic artwork files to transfer dots of coloured ink onto a chosen substrate.
It is generally restricted to CMYK (process colour), a system that uses a combination of 4 colours, Cyan,Magenta,Yellow and Black (the Key colour) overlapping each other to achieve the full colour spectrum.
Digital printing cannot print spot colours (e.g. Pantone) like litho printing but technological advancement in recent years has meant that digital printing can now deliver a much closer colour match.
Digital printing requires minimal set up time and can often be a cost effective solution for smaller print runs.
CHOOSING BETWEEN LITHO AND DIGITAL FOR YOUR PROJECT?
LITHO PROOFING
Highest quality print possible
Can print spot (Pantone) colours.
Higher set up costs so usually cost effective for longer print runs
Better for tints, gradients and larger solid blocks of colour
DIGITAL PROOFING

Lower set up costs so can be cost effective for short print runs

OUR DIGITAL PRINTING SERVICES
DagwoodLinnetts offer high quality digital printing, a relatively quick, cost effective and versatile way of producing small quantity prints for flat sheets or mock up creation.
We can print onto shrink wrap, clear PSL, white vinyl, white boards and papers, mirror silver poly and many more substrates.
We use the latest digital printers that can print a screen quality white, brilliant silver and we can also use Hexachrome (a six colour process that adds orange and green inks to provide a better match for Pantone colours).
We can then incorporate some of our other finishing services like embossing/debossing or hot foiling to create an even more premium looking finish.
